The issue of violence and crime and the problem of firearms, the use, possession and distribution of guns in Brazil, has been the subject of numerous studies.
It has recently come to a new report on violence in Brazil “MAPA DA VIOLÊNCIA 2013 | Mortes Matadas por Armas de Fogo”. By Julio Jacobo Waiselfisz. One of the study’s findings is that the homicide rate in Brazil has doubled in the last three decades.
The report is based on statistics from the Ministry of Health of Brazil and the report «Global Burden of Armed Violence«, published by the Geneva Declaration on Armed Violence and Development, an international organization that periodically scans the figures for all countries the world.
